Deep Soil Mixing, or wet soil mixing, is a soil treatment/ground improvement technique where in-place soils are mixed or blended with cement or other reagent materials. The result is columns of soil-cement with significantly increased strength and reduced compressibility. The columns are often installed in a block, grid or line of independent or interlocking arrangements depending on their use. Deep soil mixing is often used to provide seepage barriers or cut-off walls and can also be an efficient excavation support system in the appropriate conditions.
